CHOOSING
THE RIGHT CARPET Different
areas of the home require different types of carpet.
Heavy traffic areas like the hall and stairs and living
room obviously need a hard-wearing carpet whereas bedroom
and bathroom carpets do not have to stand up to so much
use.
For this reason several of our carpet ranges have collections
of 'good', 'better' and 'best' qualities all with the
same colourways to allow for coordination throughout
all the main areas of the home, with different levels
of wearability.
- LOUNGE The living room is the showpiece of the home wit regular
use would require a good quality carpet.
- DINING
ROOM good quality carpet with added stain protection
would be an advantage.
- HALL & STAIRS would need to be hard wearing, a soil
resistant finish would also be beneficial.
- BEDROOM Lighter colours, softer pile for this 'low traffic'
area, although more hard wearing quality may be preferred
for a child's room.
- BATHROOM need to be moisture resistant and rot proof.
- KITCHEN carpet can often hide a multitude of sins but needs
to be hard wearing, short pile with a soil and stain
resist treatment.
CHOOSING
THE RIGHT COLOUR A successful
colour scheme incorporates colours which either match,
harmonise or complement each other.
Colour is largely a matter of personal taste but as
the floor is one of the biggest areas of the room and
the colour and design used to cover it can have a major
influence on the final appearance it is worth taking
time to consider some options rather than make an expensive
mistake.
- REDS & BROWNS add warmth, whereas certain blues and
greens can have the opposite cooling effect.
- LIGHT
COLOURED CARPETS especially plain, make a room appear
more spacious, while dark colours have a more intimate
effect.
- LIGHTING
in your room also has an important effect, is it is
important to check a sample against a comparable lighting
